A blend of 70% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot, 10% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, La olombina's
2015 San Martino reveals a medium -weight style with sweet fruit layers of cherry, wild berry andsummer plum. There is a touch of extra softness here—not over-ripeness but rich softness
—that reminds you of the warm and sunny conditions of this vintage. Light touches of cigar, smoke and tar add savory accents. Given the pretty buoyancy of the fruit, I would suggest drinking this wine within the next few years while those characteristics are intact and fresh. Only 2,800 bottles were made, and the wine will be released in March 2020.
